Trolium
Trolium is an elemental metal found on Krypton and used by Dol-Nd to fashion flying wings for people 2,000 years in the planet's past. While the wings work very well, they leave residual "death-trails" that destroy any airborne object or living being that crosses their path. Criminals attempt to steal the Trolium wings and because of the side effects, the technology is destroyed by Dol-Nd. However, the spiraling "death-trails" remain in parts of Krypton's sky ever after (S No. 243/2, Oct 1971: "The Death-Trails of Krypton!").
