"One of the most powerful industrialists in the nation," a viciously unscrupulous tycoon who masterminds a heinous scheme to cause a series of disastrous train wrecks on the Garth & Cowles Railroad so that he can buy a controlling interest in the line for a song when the price of the stock plummets.
