One of the planet Krypton's "natural wonders," a lake which, because its waters contained "some strange chemical," could "shrink ordinary men down to ant size." When, while he was still an infant on Krypton, Superman was accidently transformed into a towering giant by his father Jor-El's "amazing growth ray for plants," Jor-El restored his infant son to normal size by getting him to take a dip in Shrinkwater Lake (Act No. 325, Jun 1965: "The Skyscraper Superman!").
