Pygor

An inhabitant of the latter half of the 52nd century, who, like R. J. Desmond - "the greatest showman of the 52nd century" - specialises in (and is famous for) building robotic replicas, in this case, interstellar space creatures. At some point, Pygor becomes jealous of Desmond's achievements in lifelike humatrons in Smallville-Land, a historical replica of Smallville, Superboy's hometown. Pygor hires two men, posing as workers in Smallville-Land, to steal the Superboy humatron and take it to his hidden fortress many miles away, so he can dismantle the humatron, and discover it's secrets. However, Pygor and his men are unaware they are actually stealing the real Superboy, who is secretly substituting for the faulty Superboy humatron during a brief visit to the 52nd century. Superboy easily defeats Pygor's men and his robotic space monsters, and then threatens Pygor from ever attacking Smallville-Land again. Terrified, Pygor agrees, thinking he is talking to a highly sophisticated Superboy humatron (NSB No. 10, Oct 1980: "The Town That Time Remembered!").
