Mount Everest

One of the tallest peaks in the Himalyan Mountain Range. It rises 8,848 meters above sea level, straddling the borders of Nepal and Tibet.

In Nov/Dec 1947, Ira Stone, Clark Kent, and Lois Lane scale Mount Everest in order to paint its peak with a newly-invented chemical but are plagued by the criminal known as The Gargoyle until Superman intervenes (S No. 49/2: “Clark Kent’s Most Dangerous Assignment!”).

In January-February 1953, when Professor Wilson divides the formula for his "four-dimensional projector" into seven parts and hides them in seven inaccessible places, one of the hiding places he chooses is the "the highest place on Earth", which Superman determines to be Mount Everest (WF No. 62: "The Seven Secrets of Superman").
