Real name: Mekt Ranzz
When Mekt and his younger twin siblings, Garth and Ayla, were trapped by lightning beasts on the planet Korbal, enveloped by the beasts' rays, they were endowed with the power to hurl and control lightning bolts.
Mekt joined the Legion of Super-Villains while his younger siblings joined the Legion of Super-Heroes respectively as Lightning Lad (originally Lightning Boy) and Lightning Lass (later Light Lass).
