John and Mary Kent (of Earth-2)

The graveside vow! Art by Wayne Boring.

The adoptive parents of the Superman of Earth-2. This middle-aged couple finds the rocket carrying baby Kal-L, ca. 1917, and raise the infant Kryptonian as their own, naming him Clark (NSB No. 15/2, Mar 1981: "Superboy Meets Clark Kent"). Upon their deaths, ca. 1938, Clark Kent moves to Metropolis and is hired by editor George Taylor of the Daily Star (Secret Origins No. 1, Apr 1986: "The Secret Origin of the Golden-Age Superman").
