Jasper Coldstone

A "famed efficiency expert"—cold, hard, and tyrannical—who makes life at the Daily Planet miserable with his relentless insistence on "split-second efficiency" and his indifference to the staff's human and emotional needs until finally Superman takes a hand to teach the cold-hearted clock watcher that the "human element" in life is more important than saving time (Act No. 192, May 1954: "The Man Who Sped Up Superman!").
