A “mysterious gangland czar,†known pseudonymously as “The Wheel,†who, having kidnapped Lois Lane, threatens to kill her unless Clark Kent, who is widely known as a close friend of Superman, agrees to divulge Superman’s secret identity.
In October 1965, however, by means of an elaborate ruse, Superman apprehends Herb Farr and his henchmen and rescues Lois Lane from their clutches (S No. 180/1: “Clark Kent’s Great Superman Hunt!â€) (TGSB).
