Green Lantern Corps

"In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight...let those that worship evil's might, beware my power -- Green Lantern's light!"

Green Lanterns of the Universe

A group of worthy beings chosen by the ancient race of galactic Guardians of the Universe to patrol the sectors of the universe against evil's influence. Members of the Green Lantern Corps derive their power from a source known as the "Central Battery" as expressed through extremely powerful Green Lantern Power Rings.

Green Lantern Corps members hail from many species in the cosmos, and it is revealed that Kryptonian Kal-El was once a candidate to be Leader of this amazing band of heroes (S No. 257/2, Oct 1972: "The Greatest Green Lantern of All!").

Though Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) and Green Lantern (Tomar-Re) are among the better-known members of the Green Lantern Corps, many other worthy individuals have served and do serve as members such as Green Lantern (Katma-Tui) who rescues an unconscious Superman in 1972 (S No. 247, Jan 1972: "Must There Be a Superman?").
