Green Lantern
When test pilot Hal Jordan aided a stricken alien who was a member of the Green Lantern Corps, he assumed the alien's role as protector of Earth and that sector of the galaxy which contains Earth.
Hal's power is in his ring which must be recharged by a power battery. It is vulnerable only to the color yellow.
As a member of the Justice League of America, Green Lantern has teamed with Superman many times.
