The editor of the Daily Star (S No. 2/2, Fall '39: "Superman Champions Universal Peace!"), the forerunner in the chronicles of the Daily Planet. When, beginning in Spring 1940, without any explanation having been given for the changeover, the name Daily Star disappears from the texts and the newspaper is referred to as the Daily Planet (S No. 4/1-4; see also Act No.23, Jun '40), George Taylor remains its editor (Act No. 25, Jun '40; and others), a post he continues to occupy through November 1940 (Act No. 30). Then, in November-December 1940, a new Daily Planet editor appears in the person of Perry White (S No. 7/1; and others). (TGSB)
