Ed Lacy
A man who meets Krypto when a dog kidnapping ring is exposed (SF No. 185/4, Sep/Oct 1977: "The Stray Superdog!"), Lacy later has the opportunity to work with the Dog of Steel in a feature movie (SF No. 186/4, Nov/Dec 1977: "Gunfight at the Canine Corral!").
When Lacy explains that his nephew, Tommy, is missing, the pair travel the country (SF No. 188/4, Mar/Apr 1978: "Ridin' the Rails!") in search of the young man. They finally succeed and locate him, but not before Krypto must defeat a murderous criminal gang (SF No. 192/3, Nov/Dec 1978: "Requiem in the Rain!").
