Derwing
The chairman of the Committee Against Militarism, an American organization whose members stridently advocate “no rearmament in the U.S., and no aid to warring democracies!†Secretly, however, Derwing is “in the employ of a warring totalitarian nation,†and his “duty here in America is to see that no aid is offered to the democracies, and that the U.S. fails to re-arm.†Aided by a growing army of henchmen, traitors, and innocent dupes opposed to America’s intervention in World War II, Derwing carries out numerous acts of sabotage and other acts designed to hinder America’s rearmament efforts, until he is finally brought to justice by Superman in March-April 1941 (S No. 9/1) (TGSB).
