"Davey Jones." The leader of a gang of modern-day pirates who, operating from an autogyro, put the crews of passing freighters to sleep with clouds of sleeping gas and then sink the cargo-laden vessels in shallow water so that later, posing as honest salvage contractors, they can approach the owners of the missing ships and exact large fees for salvaging their sunken cargoes. "Davey Jones" and his henchmen are apprehended by Superman in December 1945 (Act No. 91: "The Ghost Drum!").
