Circe
An ancient Greek sorceress. In one account, she was originally from another planet and gave Superman the head of a lion (Act No. 243, Aug. 1958: "The Lady and the Lion")
She was responsible also for changing Biron the centaur into a horse and later gave him super-powers as Super-Horse (S No. 176/1, Apr 1965: "The Revenge of the Super-Pets!").
