One of the countless [[Parallel-Worlds]] that [[Superman]] has encountered in his adventures. This version of Earth was portrayed as a direct continuation of the Golden Age (1935-1947) superhero comics, although it differed in several details from the original Golen Age stories.  Its greatest distinction from the [[Earth-1]] (mainstream) continuity of DC comics of its day was that it featured modern-day stories of the ''successors'' of Superman and his contemporaries (Batman, Wonder Woman, etc.), since on Earth-2, Superman's greatest activity was during the Golden Age, not in the present day.  Earth-2 first appeared in 1961, as the background for the story "Tale of Two Flashes".  It was written out of existence in 1984 as part of the [I]Crisis on Infinite Earths[/I].  At least one character related to [[Superman of Earth-2]], [[Power Girl]] (Kara Zor-L) was continued into the new [[Post-Crisis]] continuity, although her history was rewritten to remove any connection to Superman.

Its greatest distinction from the Earth-1 (mainstream) continuity is that it featurs modern-day stories of the successors of Superman and his contemporaries (Batman, Wonder Woman, etc.), since on Earth-2, Superman's greatest activity was during the Golden Age, not in the present day.
