Beetles Brogan
A wanted criminal who is apprehended along with an unnamed henchman by Superman in June 1954. All of Superman’s activities during this period are severely hampered by the fact that vaporized gold ore, penetrating the skin of his hands as he battles the eruption of a volcano in a "remote mountain region," has temporarily endowed him with "the terrible power that King Midas of old is said to have," so that everything he touches turns to gold (Act No. 193: "The Golden Superman!").
