A sultry blond singer at the Hilow Night Club who has murdered a man named Jack Kennedy “for two-timing her” and framed innocent Evelyn Curry for the crime. After confronting Bea Carroll in her dressing room and forcing her to sign a written confession (“I—I’ll get the chair for this!” sobs Bea. “You should have thought of that before you took a human life!” replies Superman), Superman races with his prisoner to the home of the governor to arrange a last minute reprieve for Evelyn Curry (S No. 1/1, Sum 1939). The original, albeit abbreviated, version of this story appears in Action Comics No. 1 (Jun 1938).
