Arion, Lord of Atlantis
Powerful sorcerer and heroic adventurer active 45, 000 years ago in ancient Atlantis, many years before the cataclysmic sinking of the legendary lost continent (first appearance: Warlord No. 55, Mar 1982: "Atlantis!"). Superman encounters Arion when the Atlantean mage is sent through time to modern-day Metropolis during a battle with the "mad god" Chaon. Arion and the Man of Steel return to ancient Atlantis and eventually defeat the wicked Chaon, after which Superman returns to his native time and place (DCCP No. 75, Nov 1984: "Partners in Time!").
