Althera
Warrior captain from the planet Vrandar, a world of militaristic females who use slave labor to mine an energy-supplying mineral. While Superman opposes her plans to enslave the men of another world, he finds himself attracted to her, though her revelation that her species has evolved from birds makes the Man of Tomorrow realize that a relationship with her would be ultimately impossible. Superman keeps a memory tape of his encounter with Althera in a special chamber of his Fortress of Solitude (Act No. 395, Dec 1970: "The Secrets of Superman's Fortress!").
