In 1939, Clark Kent and Lois Lane are assigned to report on the opening of the World's Fair by Daily Star editor George Taylor. After a train ride of several hours from Metropolis to the Fair's Flushing Meadows, NY site, the reporters confront criminal Nick Stone and Superman subsequently puts Stone behind bars (NYWF No. 1: "Superman at the World's Fair").

The following year, Kent and Lane return to the fair and help Superman apprehend the nefarious Blackie Sarto (NYWF No. 2, 1940).
