Mapleville

A small town, situated somewhere in the northwestern United States, where Superman, acting under strenuous public pressure to select an official home town to call his very own, sets up residence in April 1953, in a lavish mansion, donated by the townspeople, which he promptly dubs Super Manor, only to have an angry citizenry order him out of town soon afterward, after mobs of gawking tourists rampaging through the streets, tons of Superman fan mail clogging the local post office, and the nerve-wracking sonic booms caused by Superman’s super-speed arrivals and departures have made a shambles of Mapleville’s small-town way of life and convinced its frazzled populace that having Superman as a neighbor is not the unmitigated blessing they had expected it to be (Act No. 179: “Super Manor!”).
